Calculate your child's Body Mass Index:
Weight is measured in underwear without shoes or socks. Height is measured with child standing against the wall looking straight forward with 3 points of contact to the wall (heel, buttocks and head). Use a ruler that is parallel to the floor and make a mark on the wall in pencil. Measure this height with a tape measure flat against the wall. If the ruler is thick take this into account when marking. Choose a wall without a protruding baseboard as this can make the height inaccurate. If your child screens positive for overweight or obesity have your doctor check the BMI to ensure accuracy.
